Shipping policy

1. Order Processing

All orders are processed within 1–2 business days. You will receive an order confirmation email after checkout and another notification when your order is out for delivery or ready for shipment.

Please note that orders containing frozen items may require added handling time to ensure proper cold-chain packaging.

2. Local Delivery (12 km Radius)

We offer local delivery within 12 km of our location for $6.99.
Deliveries are made every:

  • Tuesday between 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Saturday between 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

You will receive a text or email when your order is on the way.

Frozen Delivery Requirement:
Because our products are frozen, someone must be home to receive the order. We cannot leave packages outside or unattended.

Free Local Delivery:
Enjoy free delivery on orders over $50 within our local delivery zone.

3. Shipping Outside the Local Delivery Zone

We currently offer frozen shipping to select areas using insulated packaging and ice packs to ensure your plantains arrive frozen and safe.

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location, order size, and carrier rates.

Important:
Frozen items may not be available for shipping to all regions. If your address is outside our shipping range, you will be notified at checkout.

4. Packaging for Frozen Products

All frozen items are packed with:

  • Insulated liners or thermal packaging

  • Ice packs or dry ice (depending on destination)

  • Secure, leak-resistant packaging

This helps maintain product quality during transit. Please place your items in the freezer as soon as they arrive.

5. Missed Deliveries

For local deliveries, if no one is available during your delivery window:

  • Our driver will attempt to contact you.

  • If delivery cannot be completed, the order will be rescheduled for the next delivery day.

  • Additional delivery fees may apply.

For shipped orders, please track your shipment closely. We are not responsible for packages that spoil due to missed delivery attempts or delays caused by the carrier.

6. Order Changes & Address Updates

If you need to update your delivery address, instructions, or order details, please contact us within 12 hours of placing your order at hello@dodofoods.ca.

We cannot guarantee changes once the order has been packed or shipped.

7. Damaged or Delayed Orders

If your order arrives damaged, melted, or incorrect, please email us within 24 hours of receiving your package with:

  • Your order number

  • A photo of the product and packaging

  • A brief description of the issue

We will do our best to make things right.
